Autumn began, from the point of view of the calendar, so it is time to start collecting. The crops we have planted in recent months must be collected or removed from the ground and, to do it correctly, we need reliable equipment. In this article we will focus on the process of collecting potatoes, providing general information and practical advice to optimize the process.

What types of potatoes are collected now?

The potato can be collected in different periods of the year depending on the variety and reason for the plant. As soon as the plant has flourished, we can start collecting, but we will have little product. If we want larger potatoes, we will have to water as frequently as possible after flowering to help them grow. When the plant is dry, the tuber has reached maturity and we can start collecting.

If in May we will collect the first potatoes for summer consumption, in September we collect the potatoes that will be consumed during the cold station. When is the collection performed?

The potato harvest is influenced by environmental factors, more precisely due to the temperature and the degree of soil humidity. In general, the harvest begins at the end of August and can last until the end of September. As a time interval we are talking about 25 days.

How is the collection made?
